Hampstead premiere: A chat with Brendan Gleeson, director Joel Hopkins and cast

Hampstead is the new British romcom from Joel Hopkins, which, in the vein of Notting Hill, takes us into the leafy North London borough for stunning suburbia-scapes and romance, while also tackling the issue of gentrification plaguing the ever expanding city. Based on a true story, towering screen talents, Diane Keaton and Brendan Gleeson, play the American expat and widow looking for new life in her upper class bubble and the Irish squatter battling the dreaded property moguls wishing to turf him out – who find unlikely companions in one another. We caught up with the cast at the premiere, fittingly located in the centre of the posh spot, including Gleeson himself, about working alongside the lovely Keaton, as well as director Joel Hopkins on the issues the film unearths.
